Perrie gets lost inside his own mind. "Its happened twice now."

I'm quite lost at the moment. I need some direction with my art, some help maybe. I feel i don't have a style. I need to focus everything i've learned into a certain way i'm comfortable with so i can work on it - i'm kind of all over the place. I think i'm going to be working on more comic book style work for the moment.

Influences: Todd McFarlane, Greg Capullo, Brian Haberlin, Andy Troy, Philip Tan, Ashley Wood, Ian Hannin, amongst others

Elfwood Influences are mainly all the people on my favorite list but mostly Derek 'Hendercrazy' Henderson his work is really inspiring

Wants to get into comic books. Literally wants to get inside the pages and live there.

Interests
I like to rock climb although since i have moved i haven't really been, i really miss it. I also like to play guitar although i'm not very good. I like writing stories, poetry and attempting to create animations. Currently learning to play the piano.

Favorite Fantasy/Scifi Movies and TV Shows
Hyperdrive! Awesome sci-fi series with none other than Mr. Nicholas John Frost. LOTR is an obvious one, both books and movies. Not really a big reader tho. Guyver is an awesome series.

Favorite Fantasy/Scifi Books
Well guess i am a big reader if you count comics.. I have every Spawn issue of the original series, i love Spawn. 2000 AD, Heavy Metal, Alien vs Predator vs Terminator, The Crow and Watchmen! Best comic ever

Favorite Music
Hmm music. I like alot of different types of music, i collect it. 23 Mar 2009	Dean Gowans	Loading... going in and taking the fight to gillian, dean and dougie, dont know honestly, i got work for the rest of this year, but art wise im not sure, i sent an email to john howe and he said i should send him a sample of work, and the same to a guy called Todd Lockwood, got some pretty positive feedback from todd, but only sent john howe a pic just now.

Glad to see that you’re trying various things to create different effects (traditional and digital) with your work. I especially like the Sabernieth pic and those character sheets of varied monsters. Keep practicing and trying new art tools like you have been and you’ll notice continued improvement. Also keep expanding on your artistic vision and knowledge as well as visual references... these are all important parts to taking your art to new levels. - Derek Perrie Nicholas Smith replies: "Thanks Derek, for taking the time to come by.
